I'm tired of drawing what I draw. For a while now, I've been practicing in secret to be able to switch myself over and AWAY from Japanese influence in my art. I just want to move into American comics style, which is proving to be one of the most difficult things I've ever done.

Now I'm not saying I'm done drawing anime stuff, I just want to do something else for a while. All the anime I'm interested in anymore I've seen a few times over already and I just don't have the patience to get into any new anime series. I'm a DC comics man now.

Up soon should be a few character designs commissioned for a friend's storyline thing, and then I'm going to try some DC comics related submissions.

Of course, all this AFTER I finish this bout of artist's block.

Hmm...

I think its too bad that the idea that its either one or the other are the only ways to go.

I'm a firm believer of the idea that in ANYTHING we enjoy or are inspired by there are building blocks for greatness.

We take what we like, ad ourselves to the mix and do something that is our own. =)

So we need a lot of different impressions.

Also: no matter WHAT you want to draw figure drawing helps.

Also relaxe. If you think "I'm going to change my style" it won't work. Instead simply draw what you want to draw.

After a while you'll see that it all starts to blend together. ;)
